Agmatine decarboxylized from the amino acid arginine and found in soybean and Manaca plants enhances Nitric oxide production, as well as increases dopamine production through increasing the enzyme tyrosinase necessary for the conversion of tyrosine to L-Dopa which then converts into dopamine.1 Modulating some processes of learning and memory,2 evidence supports the use of agmatine in the treatment a variety of diseases including, opioid addiction, cancer, cognitive disorders, diabetes millitus, mood disorders, neurodegenerative diseases and neurotrauma.3 An amino acid found in green tea L-Theanine reduces the stress response by preventing cortical neuron excitation via glutamate receptors.4Combining L-Theanine with magnesium enhances this effect, increases GABA, dopamine, serotonin, and melatonin. It also is shown to regulate brain electrical activity by increasing slow-brain waves, enhancing quality of sleep.5Magnesium is essential for a for the proper functioning of many biochemical and metabolic processes throughout the body. Its deficiency has been indicated in the body’s vulnerability to stress. Stress is also indicated in as a cause of magnesium deficiency.6 Piperine is shown to increase striatal levels of glycine and GABA.7 It also has anti-depressant, analgesic,8 neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties.9 Neurological function and sleep quality enhancement are properties of glycine.10 The combination of glycine with N-acetylcysteine improved muscle strength, exercise capacity, and cognition11 Increased oxidative stress and impaired energy metabolism is found in Thiamine(B-1) deficiency.
